Early on I developed a dangerous addiction to stories. I’m not sure if I should feel proud or horrified about the number of hours I’ve spent lost between the pages of books or trapped in front of a television screen. I suppose I should also admit to the time I’ve spent lost in my own imagination. That’s where things really got wild.
But my love of stories has not lead me astray. After earning a BA in English from UC Irvine, I returned to the Inland Empire to become a teacher and, eventually, a writer. I received my English Credential from the University of Redlands and then began teaching for the Moreno Valley Unified School District. In 2014 I earned my MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) in Fiction from California State University San Bernardino.
Now, in the midst of transition, I am exploring my future as a writer. When I am not torturing my characters with plot twists or driving my students crazy with a never ending list of projects, I am exploring the world in search of truth. I strive to live each day with determined optimism, brandishing my words, my heart, and my faith in every decision I make.
