“Wonder” by R.J. Palacia

Every once in a while, a book comes around that touches your heart. Wonder by R.J. Palacio is just such a book. Reading it will make you want to be a better person.

I know that I am partial to reading, and to literature for young adults, but this is more than just a good story. This book has the potential to change lives. If you haven’t already, go out and buy Wonder. You have to read this book. You just have to.

Here is the book jacket summery for anyone who needs more convincing. (And I better not hear anyone say they’re not going to read it because it is about a 10 year old.)

August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial difference that prevented him from going to a mainstream school – until now. He’s about to enter 5th grade at Beecher Prep, and if you’ve ever been the new kid, then you know how hard that can be. The thing is Auggie’s just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince her new classmates that he’s just like them, despite appearances?”
